The Chief Financial and Operating Officer of the Department of Planning and Environment, Simon Officer, was appointed Chief Executive Office for CCRDC, effective 1 January 2016. Simon is charged with the responsibility of maintaining good corporate governance.
The term of CCRDC's Board expired on 31 December 2015. Renewal of individual Board Director positions will be considered once the advisory committee completes its work in early 2016. The advisory committee was formed in October 2015 to consider the operation of development corporations in NSW.
Simon Officer joined the Department of Planning and Environment in 2014. In his current role, he has been instrumental in transforming the Department's financial and operational management and governance.
Simon has a wealth of experience in re-engineering finance and services functions. In his previous role as CFO at Westmead Millennium Institute for Medical Research, Simon was responsible for the transition of the business from a Westmead Hospital and Sydney University joint venture into a new public company.
While CFO of Mater Health Services Brisbane, Simon delivered significant improvements to finance services, budgeting and reporting across the seven Mater hospitals.
Simon also served on the Prime Minister's Charity's Consultative Committee for A New Tax System and was responsible for several submissions to Senate Inquiries including A New Tax System and The Definition of Charities.
