Michael Cassel is the CEO of the Central Coast Regional Development Corporation (CCRDC) and is tasked with the delivery of revitalisation initiatives for Gosford, as the capital of the Central Coast.
In April 2018, The Hon. Anthony Roberts, Minister for Planning, Housing and Special Minister for State, appointed Michael as the CEO of CCRDC, as part of important plans to improve the city's commercial, retail and cultural life.
Michael is also the Chief Executive of the Hunter Development Corporation and leads the NSW Government's $650 million Revitalising Newcastle program.
In these roles, Michael is leading unprecedented transformation and change by creating vibrant public spaces, new jobs and more homes linked to better transport opportunities. He has extensive experience in managing complex business stakeholders and delivering city-changing outcomes, and is passionate about creating opportunities that see communities thrive.
Michael's 30 years' experience includes senior roles in public, private and not-for-profit sectors, coupled with extensive academic achievements including an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of NSW. He is also a graduate from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
